Monthly Club | Conference Girls in STEM

We are excited to announce that the Girls in STEM program will be running in-person from October 2022 - May 2023. The program will be hosted at the University of Toronto - St. George Campus. The exact dates of the workshops are: October 1, November 5, December 3, January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1 and the conference on May 6 2023.

  • Are you a girl in Grades 6, 7 and 8?
  • Are you interested in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields?
  • Are you a parent who knows a girl in Grades 6, 7, and 8 who you would like to encourage to consider research or a career in the STEM fields?

GIRLS IN STEM MONTHLY CLUB

This club is open to girls in grades 6 - 8. It meets on the first Saturday of every month, featuring two 75 minute workshops from 10am - 1pm, starting on October 1, 2022, and ending with the Girls in STEM Conference on May 6, 2023. Students enrolled in this program will have monthly workshops or seminars that will engage them in various topics in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

* New Update: This year, we will be offering all new workshops. Even if you have participated in the program in previous years, we encourage you to join again this year!

Workshops will be led by female members of various departments throughout the year. The materials covered in the class will be separate from standard school curriculum and pre-requisite knowledge is not required.

CONFERENCE

Each year the Department of Mathematics, in partnership with other University of Toronto departments and industry partners, offers an annual Girls in STEM conference.

The next conference will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The conference will feature speakers and workshops from across the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The program is only open to girls currently in Grades 6, 7, or 8 and spaces are limited. This program is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
